No, it can't help improve your business.

Link building can only help you rank your site higher in the search engine results pages. In a way, it can indirectly help your business by bringing in visitors to your website.

According to me, Link building not only gets you traffic, but it also improves your business directly.
What makes me say this is the fact that if you have your links on relevant pages, you will get visitors and this is DIRECTLY getting you business.

For example....if you have a cas1n0 website and you place your link on a highly relevant article page which talks about lets say 'p0ker'. When a visitor is going throug this article, he is obvioulsy intrested in the topic that he is reading and has not just stumbled upon it.
What you can be sure of is that links from realting articles (Related to the theme of you site) will drive more relevant traffic to your site, increasing the possibility of repeat visitors (as you already know they are interested in the subject and not just "stumbling" across your site) and get you DIRECT traffic and business.

Link building is vital to any website if it wants to achieve high search engine rankings. A link pointing to your website is like a vote, and search engines use this as a factor in ranking a website. Make sure they are relevant links. Also if you have a links page, make sure you keep it to less then 50 links per page, and have categories for all the links.

I agree to you completely but I believe when search engine crawls our website it also crawls through links & content of the page. So if we will have links from those content pages which are related to the content of our links, it will help us more.

What do you suggest.

Hi. Try www.bestlinksdeals.com.
I got link building done for my website from them. They focus on highly relevant article pages. Also, I let them handle my banner campaign. Links and banners from these highly relevant article pages really helped my site in the long run.
