Does Web host status affects ranking of a Website?

Yes web hosting status also affects the search engine result i just lost my site in Google because of web hosting.
Google banned web hosting IP because of it my site lost its position in search result.

webhosting has no effect on ranking of awebsite
unless that webhosting has problrems with google or black listed

Webhosting is very much related to the IP address of your sites. If google ban an IP address, it will affect all the sites hosted on the same IP.

Hosting doesn't have a direct effect on ranking. But you should choose a reliable hosting company. Make sure it has good reputation.

Never heard of this ! According to my point of view, the webhosting is also responsible for your site ranking. Because-

1. If your website do not get necessary bandwidth, then your website loading time will be huge.
2. If your website is hosted on servers where blacklisted website's were hosted in past then your website can be banned.

I think these are more than enough to consider your website ranking.

It can affect in some way I guess. But the best thing to do here is that as much as you can, get a dedicated server for your site.

There are times it is. Like when your site always going offline, it has affect. When your site was on shared hosting/IP and even one of those sites were penalized or involved in anything that is unnecessary to Google, there is a chance your site will be affected too.

Your hosting does affect your search engine rankings sometimes. If your site is very slow, the search engine crawler will not wait for the page to load before going somewhere else. Also, if it is shared hosting and some other people on your hosting get blacklisted by a search engine it could put you in what is called a "bad neighborhood."

If you are hosting your website with a reputed web hosting company only then you can expect high ranking for your website because search engines check the reputation of the web host before giving ranks to websites. I had wondered that as I used to be with 123-reg for a website and was worried about their reputation. I moved over to Webfusion (who probably aren't much better) but have noticed no change.

When a website will have a maximum downtime then it will surely effect the ranking. How

- The maximum downtime means the crawler will not able to crawl a website and this will lower down its ranking.

If there is virtual shared IP hosting on the server, and Google penalizes the server and IP due to spamming, then chances are that your website could also be banned or otherwise penalized. In another instance, if your website is housed on a server that is hosting adult content, then Google can ban both websites. Therefore, your website visibility is at risk.
