Linkbait refers to a placement on a website for the strict purpose of tempting other web pages to link to that website. Link baiting is a viral marketing form, and can be extremely powerful, as it draws traffic to a website without keyword searches or specific searches for that web page.

link bait include:

Humor Hooks – Funny stories, practical jokes, pictures, or videos
Informational Hooks – News articles, ezine links, and anything else that carries important information, especially frequently updated information

Of course, depends on the content in question and the intention behind it - but with a benefit that is attached to and sites based on meritocracy, that the content is boring, and unworthy of spam wells generally low, leaving good things, well designed to float upward.

Link bait, if I understand correctly, when you donate an item, ie video, articles, etc.bait for users to link to you. For example, you give them a specific content to their site and you get a link back.

Linkbait is essentially a piece of content placed on a web page - whether it's an article, blog post, picture, or any other section of cyberspace - that is designed for the specific intention of gathering links from as many different sources as possible.

With the rise of the blogosphere, meritocracy and social bookmarking sites, all it takes is one interesting page on a site, someone to notice the page, and a few people to share the link - and before you know it, you've accrued a large number of links across a wide variety of sites.

Thanks

Linkbait is simply to create something that interests people to create a link for you or use something to offer as an image or tool.link harassment is a natural way to encourage Internet users and webmasters to link to Web pages, because for some reason, they like your content and who want to offer visitors friendly social contacts. Link bait is content on your site to link to other sites because they want to, not because they are asked.

Link Baiting, as the term implies, is primarily fishing line links in the hope of attracting the interest and use of quality content as ‘bait.’ Linkbait seems functional, but it is a little effort. On the other hand, some in the blogosphere as simple as that? That said, bloggers should learn to use everything they have.

Hello.............

Link bait is something on your site that people will notice and link to. By linking to your site, other sites are saying they value the content of your site and that they think other people will be interested in it, too...........

The term linkbait is used to describe the content of a website that is designed to generate incoming links from other sites. Some people disagree with the use of this term because it seems pejorative, implying linkbaiting that everything is wrong, while others think it is completely true, even with the negative connotations associated with the word bait.

Link bait is a value in place to attract the attention of other users of the Web in hopes of giving you the links, such as forums or blogs. If you look around webmaster forums you often see people recommend that you write "compelling content." Personally, I think the term is overused and gives the impression that they have to write like Charles d**k or JK Rowling. Interesting content can be almost anything decent can be placed on the web.
