I just came across one topic over here about google.co.uk and google.com.
I want what will be the extension for other countries apart from UK?? And in that how does this extension co.uk/.com/co.in and all matters??

Geo-Targeting is when you tend to rank your keywords on a certain local area example in Australia for google.com.au You do this by getting links from that specific area in order to increase you chance to rank on SERP.

yea geo targeting is very important concepts as SEO world has become very competitive. I think this is a good approach to be followed to attract local traffic to the site.

if you want to target a particular place like UK..

you must use a .UK domain..

Ya it matters a lot....If the link .co.in opens then most of the result will be from the India sub region only!!!!IF there is any country's domain end then the most of the results are from there only but this is not the case with .com!!!

also geo-targeting will be good if you want to rank in google.uk....

use some UK directories, forums.....

Hello,

If you are looking for result regarding particular geographical area it is better to use it in that way like .uk, but if you are looking for complete result regardless any particular area try.com .
