Canada and the United States — long-time North American hockey rivals and arguably the two strongest hockey countries today -- will play for the gold medal on Thursday at the Bell Centre in Montreal. Puck drop is at 8 p.m. ET, and the game will be aired on the NHL Network in the United States and on TSN in Canada.

There’s no streaming options available in the states, but Canadians will be able to watch online via TSN Go.

Canada punched their ticket late on Wednesday night with a 5-2 win over Sweden in the semi-final. Sweden had been undefeated at that point, but Canada overwhelmed them after falling behind early. Sweden has reached the semis for 40 straight years. Canada last reached the gold medal game when they won it all in 2015.

Canada-Sweden didn’t hold a candle to the chaotic semi-final between Russia and the United States earlier in the day. It was a back-and-forth contest that wasn’t decided until Troy Terry scored the game-winning shootout goal in the seventh round for a 4-3 USA win in what will go down as one of the best hockey games of the year at any level.

The USA last met Canada for gold in the 2010 World Juniors. Current Washington Capitals defenseman John Carlson scored the golden goal in overtime during an instant-classic 6-5 overtime win over Canada.
