Google Adwords Drop In Quality

I have been spending about $1000. per month on Google Adwords campaigns for several years. Mostly with very good results. I have really been impressed. Recently the quality of Google Adwords campaigns have dramatically decreased. I noticed the number of clicks for the same bids and budgets have decreased by one half. Also the quality of the clicks have been going way down. With one campaign (which converted fantastic with other methods) I had 300 clicks and only one person subscribing to my newsletters. Before I was paying about one dollar in PPC charges per subscriber for the same campaign. I should have had about 30 subscribers for that amount of money. I even put the price of my product in the Adwords ad to weed out tire kickers. I do this full time. There is no way that Google is delivering real quality prospects they used to. Ads do not diminish for the worse 30 times that quickly. Has anyone else been experiencing a similar drop in Adwords quality? Any ideas for alternatives besides Yahoo (Overture)? I was wondering if I was alone.

I had a lot of trouble with Google adwords. I had a much more limited budget, but I found that conversion was very low. My ads were very targeted too, I didn't want people clicking who were just there to look around for a second and leave.

I ended up turning off my campaigns because it was just costing too much. Luckily, my natural listings started improving.
