It's true that here everything is based on assumptions, but you know that must be constructive! Researching and well understanding of your niche area is really important, and that needs high level of expertise. So assumptions in SEO work also needs professionalism and intelligence. Studying updates, analyzing competitors' activities, monitoring your websites' performance in search engines etc. needs smart thinking and hard working also. You know if you're not hard working, it would be difficult for you to achieve success...not only in SEO but in every field, but of course smart work is also very important!

Its true that it is a slow process,but for result its depend on keywords and their competitions.more competition will take more efforts and low or medium competition will take less than that.

SEO is one of complete featured Internet marketing method. I totally agree with you that this one is one of time consumed method but it's really promising to improve the brand identification and promotion.
