Blog commenting is a great link building strategy, if done properly. I’ve seen a lot of sites rank pretty much on the strength of their blog commenting. It's also a great thing your clients can get involved in as well. Many of them will probably be commenting on relevant sites already--you just need to remind them to put your links in as well.

And what for? I guess you comment here for getting real visitors to your place because I see no other reason as this blog is no-follow and for Google it has very little value.

Blog commenting is very effective in getting good quality backlinks if your comment to that particular blog is related to its content. It depends on how relevant your comment is.

It is always depend on how relevant your comment to that particular blog is. If you just leave a spammy comment, it will just be deleted by the blog owner.

I agree, blog commenting is one of the best link building strategy you can use in getting backlinks. It really helps in SEO.

I use blog comment and I find that blog comment is very useful for getting your site index and getting visitors but its no use to to page rank (at least in my case)

I strongly agree with all the posts presented from this forum thread. I also believed (according to my experience) that blog commenting (also known as guest posting) is a beneficial strategy in generating an increase in getting backlinks. That is why it is highly recommended that you are to read blogs related to your site found on the first pages of the search engine result page because they have the highest page rank among every result. Then post your comment with good content to gain approval from its moderators.

It is an easy way to get backlinks! However these are not quality backlinks if the page you comment has too many outgoing links!
