I would like to know about link building and strategies for link building. Is there any specific dedicated site for link building.

Is there any difference in techniques of Link popularity & Link building.

In general, the best way to do a natural link building is to add content or tools to your website that arerelevant for the users and get links in a natural way. The theory says that in order to get links, a piece of content should be unique, definitive or controversial.

Write content with that characteristics is not that affordable for everybody, so more specific techniques to build your link popularity are:
- directory submission
- article syndication
- Forums and blogs (with RSS syndication).
- relevant reciprocal linking
- Press releases syndication in sites like PRweb.com
