Google gives more importance to inbound links that i know but how can one increase these "inbound links".

Acc. to you Forum Postings and directory submission are the best ways to get the Inbound Links.
I have already posted my site http://www.directphoneshop.co.uk/ in some of the good dir like dmoz,yahoo,google.but it takes a lot of time to get listed in these hifi dir.
If you have some sort of list of good Forums and free directory listings please Post it here.

PR only relies on in coming links regardless out going link ...
i have copied an article on my blog have a look at this:

It is commonly excepted that linking out to high ranking sites that are 'on topic' will also help towards your ranking.

I've noticed that the google pr hasnt mattered for us much. We've learned to reach for keywords that are not TOP key words for our site, but rather search querys/phrases and the such.

Its helped us greatly to achieve a greater amount of traffic to our site.

Lots of Factor to rank high on Google, but i will give some big factors for.

1.) Google needs not just only links, Google love quality links.
2.) good inpage optimization...
3.) and it depends on how competitive of your keywords is...

I would also include another very important factor:
To be friendly to your site visitors. Google doesn't like when website has some tricks like hidden text, too many keyword's repetitions when it doen't make sense to use them. You should also use readable & visitor's friendly Title & Description of the website, etc.

That might help to increase the site ranking.

We understand that quality inbound links (votes) with a content driven website are crucial to PageRank rating.

I am just wondering whether just by making use of Google webmaster tools eg Analytics, Base, Blogs etc will also help to improve on the PageRank.

The most important factor is inbound links with your keyword in the anchor text.

thanks for the information.

One of my forum (www.creative-castle.com) gets around 300 clicks per day since the month of August, but still i don't see any PR increase on my forum, it's still 0. Previously it got good alexa ranking, but now alexa ranking has been decreased a lot.
Can anyone guide in that, whts wrong on my forum and how can i rectify the errors.
