New Site ... how do I get Pagerank

Have a new company web site. Does anyone know how to receive a better page ranking on Google? Does spending money on ADSense help?

Page rank will increase over time as you add quality links from other sites that are related to your site. Google updates Page Rank every 3-4 months. The next update will probably happen around January, so I would get crackin' and exchange links with other sites.

If you recently open a new website, most likely you will stay in a Google sandbox for a little while. Then you will get indexed and start getting your PR.

And that's for sure, quality links from other sites which are related to your site would be your key to successful PR raise. So, try to focus the good quality relevant back-links.

Adwords can help google to trust your site I think, but building up back links is the best way to go to get a better rank.

Ok my question is this, I have a forum and i added a links directory and added 8 different catagories for sites, like other topics other then my sites topics. I am www.amSportsTalk.com and its a sports forum, but i added like an entertainment links area and so on. Does this hurt me? as it does not deal with sports?? and I have an internet section for net sites, and im getting alot of links, should i stop or remove the ones that do not have any meaning to my site? Does this hurt or confuse the search engines and ranking?

You mean adwords help pagerank and google index?

The only thing adwords did for me was to help index my entire site faster...it did nothing for page rank or keyword positions.

The theory to get Pagerank is that a link from one web page to a web page of another site was in essence a vote for that page. The reasoning was that webmasters would only link to pages that they thought were interesting and of value to their viewers.

i think you should start to build backlinks to it through forum signatures or blogs or social bookmarking or through directories

What particular niche a website you own? If it is a business website, well expect for a higher competition then.
