Listed on world Google but hardly at all on UK version

My website (www.enablinguk.com) is heavily listed on Google world but hardly at all on its UK search engine... yet I am based in the UK!!!

Is there any reason for this and what can I best do to get more UK listings??

the percieved wisdom for optimizing .co.uk listings are to have

1. UK IP Address
2. UK domain name (eg, .co.uk)
3. Links from other UK IPs/domains

your IP resolves to a site in Germany i.e. you are being hosted
by a server in Germany. To check this

find your IP by doing a C:\ ping www.enablinguk.com from a command
promp ( assuming windows ).
jot down your IP ( which is 82.165.57.23 )
To find this location goto http://www.ip2location.com/free.asp and type
in your IP address.

Also you don't seem to have many links.

Is there any way they can provide a UK IP then?? I would have thought not..

I am slowly trying to build up link numbers.. what nukber do you egard as 'good'??

not sure if your current hoster can provide a UK IP. If it proves not
possible its relatively straightforward to transfer the domain to
another hoster, buy a magazine like .net theres plenty of adverts for
UK hosters there.

w.r.t. the number of links, this really depends on the competition on
your targetted keywords.

- make a list of the keywords your want to target e.g. planning permission
UK
- type these keywords into search engines e.g. google. you will then
see who lists prominently for these kewords/phrases.
- jot down the www. of these web sites and in the google search box
type link:domainname
- you will then see how many sites are linked to this site. This will
give you an idea of the number of links that you will need to try
to obtain to compete. It could be 10s or 1000s, there no definitive
answer, it really depends on the level of competition.
