Actually you can get backlinks by submiting your site on social bookmarkings, blog commenting, and social networking.goodluck.

your best bet is to join a link exchange directory and exchange as many links as you can. Unfortunately, you have no control over when Google finds your link on another site.

But, if you exchange links daily and work hard at it, after a few months, you will see the results of your labor.

Is your site new? If so then don't boost too much your link building, start with stronger backlinks though exchanging link or article/press release submission..

With a new website, there are many backlinks right is not really good, you should build on: Social Networking, directories, press releases, submit articles ... I think it's better understood.
The construction related to that backlink sustainability, link exchange is the most effective method.

Submit your site to directories in proper categories as per your site topic and get approved.

Try getting backlinks from Social bookmarking sites, comment on blogs of your niche, link exchange with relevant sites but do not place your link on some link farm pages as it can be counted as negative point as well.
But if you want backlinks in Google then remember that Quality is the main thing and also all those links where your site link is placed should be DOFOLLOW link pointing towards your site.

dear i have make 476 backlinks within 3 days it was in start 71 only and now its 476 and soon till the morning it will b 500 but main prob is this i have backlinks on yahoo altavista all the web
but i have no back links on google and msn i m in tenation

Google counts the backlinks in a very few number...He just give stress on the quality links which your website is getting from...
