I think directorys are not worth the time, most of them anyway. Only the ones with PR5+ are of any real value.

High quality directories do still count as a valued link like Dmoz. Though most of the directories are not that counted as high quality link in some how still contributes in a little way for you link popularity. Besides this are free links you can use in targeting you keywords as an anchor text.
