Thanks, its true they are one of the most stable backlinks you could create.
Think of it like this. You have a direct link with your chosen anchor text surrounded by key words of the topic you wish to promote,

Forum backlinking is great and I have a link to the top 100 Dofollow Forums (I also posted it on SEO section as its very useful:

But a think to bare in mind is your links can move change and be deleted easily, if google credits you with 2000 backlinks and then on its next crawl sees you with half, its going to slap you around the face with a wet fish.

Just bare in mind, variety is the key. Directories, articles, forums and everything else, bit of this bit of that. Regards
