Flash is inherently a visual medium, and Googlebot doesn't have eyes. Googlebot can typically read Flash files and extract the text and links in them, but the structure and context are missing. Moreover, textual contents are sometimes stored in Flash as graphics, and since Googlebot doesn't currently have the algorithmic eyes needed to read these graphics, these important keywords can be missed entirely. All of this means that even if your Flash content is in our index, it might be missing some text, content, or links. Worse, while Googlebot can understand some Flash files, not all Internet spiders can.

Hello,
Flash banners are great when they are subtle and don't take away from viewing the content. If it is a big thing, then the show should only run once then go into a stationary then with a flash or effect every 10 seconds.
As for SEO, I believe it's not useful at all as crawlers still can't read flash code and of course images. Just alternate text... so really a banner is to catch the eye and not really useful for SEO.

The perfect use of Flash in SEO? If your concern is SEO, minimize Flash as much as possible. If your goal is to retain and convert viewers once they reach your site, don't overwhelm them with Flash - keep it simple !!
The next best thing to do is alt text your flash banner tags like the way you alt text your image tags. :D

Now a days i want to say that google crawler is already index and cache the flash websites with there content , If you need to study more about it then you read here :- http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot. ... exing.html

Note :- Mr Sanseo:- i want to say that when you will check this code in source file then you understand what the code said "meta content='NOARCHIVE' name='ROBOTS'>"

Try to use flash but use new version in which adobe has created some new features which will make your flash content and urls index and that is helpful to seo.
