Its not necessary to submit your blog to search engines. Back links helps your site get index. If you want your inner pages get index then participate on deep linking. Creating a sitemap also helps your inner pages get index as well.

Since your blog is on a blogspot domain it will automatically be indexed on Google's next crawl but check to see that you haven't bared search engines from indexing your blog by choosing the "no" option uder the Settings => Add Your Blog To Our Listings option in your blogger dashboard.

Google hasn't "registered" my main URL but did "capture" some links.

I am wondering about this: just an example, my blog is about "preschool education", and how do I "configure" my website/blog in such a way that when people look for anything related to preschool education on Google, my Url will be listed?

Hi Christine..firstly..your blog is great and nice..
since im new here maybe i can't talk much..

but i think the real problem for your blog/sites is the keyword..i found that there's too many keyword on your meta keyword..find some keywords,that match to your site,or else the googlebot will only describe your sites as a spammer..

2nd-your sites title does not match to your meta title,your title should be same as your meta title..that will help you to get to the search engine listing...

other tips maybe you can get it free from seo..
