Backlinks increasing but Google ranking down

I have website wherein backlinks are increasing but Google SERP is down. Please tell me how it’s possible.

Smithwills - this can be for many reasons. If you've noticed a huge drop off in your ranking it could be because you have incurred a penalty due to some questionable backlink techniques you're using - how have you gone about acquiring these links?

Alternatively, bear in mind that all your competitors are probably also doing SEO and the rankings will constantly fluctuate based on their work as well. Google also regularly tweeks its algorithm and any one of these small tweeks could have an effect on your ranking if, for example, you have relied too heavily on a certain type of back link technique (just forum commenting for example...) and have not diversified. I would analyse your link portfolio and see where your links are coming from and where your competitors are coming from (use a tool like opensiteexplorer.org) and then see what areas you need to start building links from.

Well, if this happen. You should exert more effort in optimizing your site. Do more effective SEO campaign since effective techniques is resulting to a good ranking position.

Google usually don't show the right inbound links of sites, there are even expired sites where their links are still showing on one's site. And it only concludes that number of indexed links to a site is directly related to serp rankings.

As you are saying that your back links increasing day by day but ranking is going down so friend its possible the reason is this you have to go for other off page activities which is important for ranking like article submission, directory submission and the main thing the back links which you are creating must be quality back links then automatically you will get a good ranking as well as traffic.

What is the integrity of your backlinks? Make sure they have high page rank!

If you are getting good backlinks and still don't get good ranking on SERP, then maybe it's because of your content... Not very sure though, but content is also a factor on search engine rankings. Or maybe you are targeting a wrong keyword...
