Opinions On Free Directories

I've heard a lot lately about directory submissions being worthless, specially now a days. Do you guys think it is still beneficial to submit a site to directories? How many directories would you recommend on a monthly basis?

Search engines crawl through the links and add the site pages to their index. Therefore, your site is ranked automatically. For a new website, this could be an easier method of finding a place in the search engine listings. Registering with the search engines could be difficult and or expensive for a start up. But, getting noticed through directory submission is the ideal choice in such cases.

Directories really help our site to get more backlinks for our site. Aldo some of the directory site takes too long before it approved.

I agree. Backlinks can still help promote your site. Just choose directories with high PR and that they allow a "do follow" link. And avoid link farms.
