What is a doorway page and should I use it for my website?

[Thuhihup]

Doorway pages are pages that have been designed for one purpose only, to rank high in the search engines for a particular keyword and then direct the arriving visitors further into the site. Usually their design is relatively simplistic and includes a lot of text, but contains very little graphics or other fancy effects.

A doorway page is simply a web page specially designed as an entrance to a website. It has been designed primarily for search engines, not for human beings, so it may present information to the spider, but obscures it from a casual human viewer. The doorway page is one way to get your website presenting one face to the spider while another to human viewers.
