Google Panda 3.5 update was on April 19, and this will target web pages that aren't quality while Google Penguin was on April 24, and it is created to target websites that are spamming the search engine such as keyword stuffing and cloaking.

The changes in Google's algorithms through the years
Since Google started, also began what we call SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and online marketing. Since then there are interesting relationships between Google and the SEO industry and SEM or SEO. Those who are engaged in SEO are trying to understand how Google's algorithms and how to finally determine the positions of the different websites on the performance index, and with this knowledge they are trying to influence and improve the positions of the sites in the different searches.
With the development of the SEO industry and SEM was contaminated much of the index results and filled with content and sites that were created by the same SEO's to achieve their goals. Remember that Google's ultimate goal is to present results of real sites that offer relevant information for current and original instead, users will use other browsers. For this reason is that Google is constantly changing and improving their algorithms to those who are devoted to SEO not manipulate search results and the results are presented in the index of real sites and not low-quality sites were created just for the SEO industry and online marketing.
This goal peaked two weeks ago when Google implemented other changes to the algorithm (Farmer) that severely affected farms content - these sites that offer a lot of low quality content (you can guess by whom they were created). Indeed changes are implemented algorithms daily but can notice only on some of them. You could say that Google created (unintentionally) what is the SEO and SEM and now is struggling to control the results of SEO and SEM activities and their influences on the quality of the results presented in the Google index. As already mentioned at the beginning of the article - interesting relationships...
Here I leave a link that describes the changes in the algorithms that Google implemented through the years in order to improve search results

Yes that’s true we should rank the page without getting penalized, so my advice is to be genuine without finding any shortcut methods.
