Nice discussion going on here.I have faced a strange problem regarding google.A few months ago google has indexed many pages of my blog and was giving me huge traffic.nothing has changed,I have tried to create more backlinks but this resulted in reducing my google ranks and traffic as well.i have created high pr backlinks but the impact is reduced traffic.what can be the reason?

well seo is not one day process to get instant result. It takes time just keep working on your site and wait for the next update.

I've spent years trying to learn all of the Google ranking factors, and I still don't know all of them. I think it's better to focus on the most important ranking factors - namely the title tag, and the quality of your backlinks. All of the other rankings factors aren't as important as these two.

For ranking in google two points are important, they are as follows;

1. Backlinks

In general, Webmasters can improve the rank of their sites by increasing the number of high-quality sites that link to their pages. Of course content is also a very big factor because you want ppl to be happy when they come to your site and recommend others. I think It also has to do with how long your site has been around, google tends to trust sites that have been around for a longer period of time. Matt Cutts has quit a few videos on youtube explaining some of the google ranking factors also. Hope this helps
