Optimize your site for your most important keywords that would bring the most traffic...use Yahoo/Overtures keyword tool to determine which keywords are your most important keywords to target.

Spread the word about your site in social bookmarking sites like kaboodle, stylehive, plime, etc...

Blog about your site or your site's topic and get the word out about it.

If you are in hurry then you need to spend some money on buying traffic for your site and advertise but this will only fetch traffic not sure about business!
IMO you should do proper SEO to your web site it will take time to get some traffic but this will be natural way and advertising it alive till you pay!

It's really with your content. If they are very interesting and useful, you can expect a lot of people to visit your site and browse it. Having link baits and optimizing them too can increase traffic too. Be sure to put a unique, helpful tool or content that has the tendency to become viral
