Need your help with 301 redirect

Post by peterko »

Hi everyone,

Asking for your professional advice about redirects.
I use lots of different affiliate links on my site http://www.supremedeal.com. According to some tools those links are being considered as bad neighborhood. They look something like that "http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/cli ... p0wxzQ&off ......." (I also use other affiliate programs). Most of those links are 302 redirects. Based on my knowledge, Google doesn't like such redirects. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I've also heard 301 redirect is much friendly to Google than the other tipes of redirects. Is it correct?

If that is correct, I can easy make all those affiliate links as 301 redirect, assigning my keywords to those hyperlinks. But it still questionable, will it help me to avoid bad actions from Google and other search engines by using 301 redirect?

I've heard somewhere (may be even on this forum, don't remember) there are some special services which can provide such redirect procedure (they call it "clean redirect"), like alexa redirects, etc. I'm not sure how clean it is, but I could do 301 redirect by myself on my dedicated server by using Internet Service Manager.

Please, advise. Your help is being very appreciated.

Have a great day,
Peter

Hi,

I don't see any reply from professionals.

I know, for sure, there are many people on this forum experienced with 301 redirects and affiliated links related problems. If I'm not clear enough in my previous posting, please let me know.

Please, reply. Your help would be very appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Have a great day,
Peter

Hi Peter,

I think there is no problem with 301 redirect and Google won't penalize your site for that but not sure on 302 redirect. :(

Thank you Alans, for your reply.

I'm not really sure why Google penalize the sites which are using affiliate links, considering them as bad neighborhood (may be that is simply false alarm, that's what I've heard).

If that information is true, then 301 redirect for such links could be a right solution. IMO. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Any other thought? Please share your experience about it. It seams to me I'm not the only one who use affiliate links.

Have a great day,
Peter
