AJAX and Google

Hi all,
How bad do you think AJAX is for search engines? Google uses AJAX in their pages too. However, they recommend not using AJAX! Why is that?

I think that ones simple Google is the boss do as they say and not as they do.

well, i dont think that using ajax causes any problem with indexing etc

Its quite common sense that Ajax will cause problem.
Even google has explained themselves.
Ever heard of Lynx browser.. whenver u hv doubt about any thing in terms of search engine accebility then open it Lynx browser and u can get the whole idea !

If you ever used the free google hosting that uses AJAX you will see that it does not support meta tags. I can't remember if it even supports custom titles for each page. Worthless for SEO.

I'm just new in seo stuff and I haven't heard AJAX....sorry but it sounds like detergent bar.

if you dont do it right, your pages wont be indexed. for example, let say you site is ONE page that uses ajax to load all the articles onto that page, only that page will get indexed, not the articles that ajax loads onto that page, which is why you should give those articles or whatever you want indexed, their own pages as well.
