Is it really worth using sitempas anymore,
I have heard that by just using a quote in your Robot text is just as effective.
What does everyone think.

The real advantage I have found to using a site map with Google is then you can keep track of all your pages in their webmaster tools area. Keeping track of crawl stats, page errors, indexed pages, links and what not. This has been a very useful tool for me.

Sitemaps is very good for deeper links of your page....

It will be crawled easier...

But if your site link structure is okay you don't even need this sitemap.

Hi,

I use gsitecrawler.com software to create google and yahoo sitemaps. It is fast, and doing it monthly is great (depends on how often you create new pages)...

You also get notified of error pages to fix them.

Very useful tool.

sitemaps are used for deep linking and to have a better site navigation

Hi, Yes! Sitemap is very useful for a small to big website. Or it is very useful in much internal linking/deeply linking. The google site map is good. But if we use .html site map from our home page then google defiantly crawl the internal pages of a website.

sitemap helps in indexing. create a xml sitemap and submit it to search engine and see the effect.

I handled a site before where it was so big to get a sitemap on. I didn't get any problems being indexed though...

the point of submitting a sitemap to google is also because it will index all your pages in google
