Only site promotion can give you traffic to earn some money
Don't think Google Adsense can bring you a big profit without promotion. IMO

You need traffic and good lick rates

low paying keyword lots of traffic

High pay keywords a few hundred visitors could make a few hundred a day

Now if you have good traffic for high paying words why send it to google you can make much more with affilate marketing if you have a hughly focused site

Google only pays a few dollars and sometime only cents for web hosting links which are 90 plus dollar commisions

Good content with relevant ads will help you to improve your adsense money.

So try make the ads similar color of the page so the visitors will click the ads

Most people who earn good bucks on Google Adsense, they have good quality of traffic, searchers who really looking something usually from SE and not those traffic that just came from nowhere (like pop ups or redirections).

$5K earning is from really, usually not one big site. More are also successful from Google Adword traffic. Another factor is good placement of ads where people really click.

It all depends on your skills and budget. If you have a staff who can supply you with unique content everyday , you can open a blog network or network of sites and focus just on advertising.

Personally I prefer to open just one site and focus fully on it , it might take a lot of time but dont forget , content is king and it will pay in the long run

I don't believe I have any link leading away from my site. I profit more from customers staying on my site. If you are selling products or services keep your links internal. Most webmasters gain more just from the content of the sites linked to their pages.
Add links to websites similar to yours to increase your content, traffic, & overall profit.

Just focus on your marketing and promotion and get loads of backlinks for your site .. Adsense has nothing to do with loads of pages as you can earn good money from one page only .. SO just remember traffic = $5k

Lots of traffic is the main thing which will help increasing adsense income. Not only that, many factors are dependent on the adsense income like key words. Location of the visitors and so on. Make your site unique and get thousands of visitors...it will help in ful filling your dream of 5k
