PR Ratings

Hello

I assume from reading these forums that the higher the PR rating a site has, the more 'frequently' google indexes the site. If this is the case, can anyone tell me how often this occurs for each ranking

If I am wide of the mark with my assumption, can someone please tell me the correct reasoning

I've done a lot of surfing around for that kind of info and there's a lot of it out there. Just do search engine searches for "page rank." Who knows how much of the info is accurate though.

My site has PR4 and my web logs show ZERO visits from Googlebot this month; however the MSN bot has visited 204 times.

My web logs show Googlebot hasn't been to my site since November, when it visited 12 times. In October it came by 45 times.

So all I can tell you is that my site has "died" on Google but still gets a lot of hits from other spiders. My PR has been steady at 4 for quite awhile. It doesn't seem to make sense that Google would stop crawling my site while its page rank has remained at the same level.

You are right. The higher PR the better your site indexed and higher postions it has in Google

That's obviously a wrong assumption. If you try link build a new site and if you practiced good off/on page campaign you can actually gain high PR, that was the time that Google actually index your site.

Having high PR alone doesn't necessarily mean that a site gets indexed faster. That's a fallacy. There are other determining factors like traffic, frequent update, quality of content, etc.

I do not think there is any direct relationship to PR and the frequency that spiders visit you.

Even a low PR site can get indexed quickly, if you know some submission tricks. sites like blogs is updated more frequently by google because of ping service.

There's no clear relation between PR and indexing time. I've seen low PR sites that get indexed by Google very fast.
