Anyone have a theory as to why Google would reset my pagerank to 0, while leaving my SERP listings alone?

To my knowledge, I haven't done anything to manipulate the Algorithm.

That's interesting...I'm up for re-review for Yahoo directory, I wonder if I should cancel my listing, since it may not be worth the 300 bucks.

Google always make some changes in their algorythm. They try to imporove it, but sometimes it doesnt work the way we want it. When they make their next change your rank might jump up again. So, be patient, let see what happen. If you didn't do anything wrong, simply disregard that pagerank, because PR doesn't mean anything. SERP is more important. IMO

Different search engines have different algorithm. Its very difficult to predict that which search engine is using what algorithm.

I have seen such 'toolbar PR' changes when google thinks (sometimes incorrectly) that you are selling links on your website. Make sure if you have any sponsored links, you make them nofollow. You will have to wait till next PR update to see any results.

Another reason might be lack of new backlinks or old backlinks going away.

Google has changed it's guidelines because they were giving a wrong message earlier. Now they don't want webmasters to do any manipulation to SERPs.

google PageRank is very influential for many internet businesses. Google does a great job in indexing sites that help gain traffic and search results.
