The best way to get indexed and increase your search engine ranking is to get incoming links to your website from websites with a related subject matter. If the incomming links has the text you are trying to rank for as the "anchor text" of the link, it will help you to get indexed and thereby rank higher for that search term. Also understand that nothing is instant, Google loves content so first Google will index your domain name then your title then sub title then keywords and so on

By directly submitting to google, by gaining links from those sites that google crawls and by submitting your sites to yahoo and open directory project index, you can be listed easily...

There are three simple methods to getting listed in Google:
1.Submit Direct To Google: - The first method is to submit your web site via Google's free submit your site form. Just submit your home page and Google's crawler, Googlebot, will crawl the rest.
2.Get Linked From A Site That Google Crawls: - The second method is to get a site that Google already crawls to link to your site. So when Google recrawls the web site, it will find the link to your site and crawl and index it as well.
3.Submit Your Site To The Yahoo! Directory & The Open Directory Project Index: -The third method is to submit your web site to the Open Directory Project index. As far as I know, this is the only guaranteed method of getting into the Google index.

If you create back links, search engine will find you soon.

Although you can manually submit your site to Google, the best way to get listed is to let the search engine find you. To achieve this you need to get links from other web sites and the easiest way to do that is to exchange links.

When you have a number of links pointing at your web site, most of the other search engines will now also find your web site and start listing you as well.
