On Page Optimization allows a higher page ranking and based on a specific keyword or phrases they enter. This process identifies those keywords that will benefit a particular website and uses them in such a way that it gets a higher page ranking when those keywords are searched.

Onpage optimization is an important part of any SEO campaign. Google gives weight to the relevancy of the content and metatags in the page. It's a good idea to analyze your site using a metatag analyzer: submitexpress.com/analyzer/. It's very helpful!

Onpage Optimization makes room for properly-structured linking; perfectly placed meta tags; that indeed results in improved SERP's.

Content (visible copy) weighs heavily and is considered one of the primary areas of search engine optimization and marketing.

Your content should be written in a way that grabs the users attention, while utilizing your targeted keywords and keyword phrases. There is a method to placement of the keywords and keyword phrases that will help your web site gain better placement in the search engines. Balance is essential and creating that balance takes knowledge and experience.

You should make it your goal to add at least one new page of content daily if possible. If not, then once a week is acceptable. You want to keep your website content fresh and give your visitors something to come back for on their next visit. Stale website content may not perform as well as fresh website content.

Utilize last modified dates on your pages so that visitors to your site know when the page was last modified and how fresh the content is

The META description tag usually consists of 25 to 30 words or less using no more than 160 to 180 characters total (including spaces). The META description also shows up in many search engine results as a summary of your site.

Make sure your META Description Tag is relevant to the content on the page.

For those search engines that are META enabled, the META keywords tag used to be one of the most important areas after the page title and page description. It has been abused by both marketers and consumers alike that there is very little weight given to the META keywords tag.

Don't fret over your META keywords tag. Utilize keywords and keyword phrases from your title element, META description tag, heading tag and first one or two paragraphs of visible content. Try to limit it to 15 to 20 words if possible

Your linkbuilding activities will be useless if the on-page structure of your site is not right. In onpage optimization, you need to make sure that your metatags are relevant to the content of the page. Google gives weight for keyword and content relevancy.

You said it, Search Engine bots crawl sites.. But it is hard to go to a public market without ever knowing those for sale items..

So, you need to do on-page optimization to help bots understand what your web pages are. Some helpful components that needs optimizations includes but not limited to Title tag, meta keywords and meta descriptions..

- Title tag is used to identify a web page. In SERP, it is used to represent a link to a site.
- Meta Keywords is used for declaring necessary and related keywords. Declare at least 10-20 different but related keywords here.
- Meta Description is used to declare a summary of page content. In SERP, it is used to give hints on what the following links are about.

Other things you may need to optimize were:
-image alt attribute.
-link title attribute.

Onpage optimization helps a lot in google ranking. It's important that you put quality articles or contents that are relevant to your target keywords in the site.
