I have read and continue to read every book or ebook, or forum post I can read to learn anything I can on how to get better search engine results. After awhile, you start to hear a lot of the same information over and over again. Some of the information is conjecture...some is pretty factual. The thing is you have to keep testing to see what works.

How come some people get listed in Google right away, but can't be found in Yahoo? How come some people get listed in Yahoo right away, but can't be found in Google? Who knows...some of the things we do to make our sites better work in some engines and not in others. I would start with Google AdWords and forget about all other Pay-Per-Click services. Google AdWords is fairly complicated. You either need to hire someone to manage this for you or do it yourself. If you do it yourself, you are better off doing some studying. If you just jump into the AdWords without know how it works and how to save money, you can easily spend a lot of money on a lot of worthless clicks.

Comparing to Google, Yahoo and MSN are not worth the hassle. If you get Google maxed out, you may consider trying Yahoo and MSN. Chances are that if you do it well with Google, you should be fine.

Don't forget trying organic SEO. The pay-per-click is a good short-term solution, but in the long run, SEO pays dividends.
