Does PR have any impact on Google rankings?

PR seems as a valuable factor on our site's ranking. But, quality backlinks with related contents can topple the PR.

I am sure that Google does have a parameter called PageRank for any web page which is constantly updated. If two web pages are equally appropriate for a given keyword search, then the one with the higher PageRank will appear higher in the list.

My personal opinion is that PR still plays a role in SERPS, but it's only one of several factors that are considered. Case in point, I have a site that has a PR2 on the index page and PR1 on the top level sub-pages. This site has consistently ranked in the top 3 spots in Google for 3 different keyword phrases that I've been targeting. It has help these positions for the last 24 months or so. The sites and pages that rank underneath it for the same keyword phrases all have higher PR. Some have significantly PR such as PR4 or 5.

Clearly, if Pr were the only factor in ranking, the sites with higher page Pr would outrank my site.

Well many webmasters say that pr haven't any impact on SE ranking but i don't think so that i think pr does have impact on SE Rnking , if you are finding a site on first page of specific keyword and with no pr or less then others then its mean that site have lot of quality back links equal to that specific Pr holding sites ... So i think pr have lot of importance

Let's start with real life example.

Type the query "Gold Aromas" in goolge.com

U will see that Page ranked #3(for www.europoppershop.com) and Page ranked for # 6(for topofthepoppers.com),both are actually competiting for this keyword.

But Page ranked #3 has PR N/A
and that of # 6 has PR 2.

It can happen.
But overall results in SERPs are actually measured by relevancy of the keyword for that page and PR of the page.

Well you are content is very important so make sure before starting optimization of your site that you have those target keyword some where in content and in title too

Pr plays the most mportant role in ranking of your website in google. as if you see the mathematical formula of algo of google then you will find how the website is ranked. If you dont think links to important then what according to you is the important factor that helps you to rank in Google

idont think PR preference can anytime be reduced..it will remain as the best ever to get traffic and authenticity as any other thing can do
