I want to discuss for website duplicate content regarding..

I'm just coming to the end of developing my website and have started looking at optimizing it for search engines, been looking about for some advice. Also seen that Google are banning sites which use "dirty tricks" to increase there ranking.

1. Would there be any problem in having 15 domains, all running the same content, from the same database (my client has 15 products - so they got a domain each!), in terms of google banning.

2. External links, is there anything wrong with putting links in forums (i.e. forums related to the sector, and obviously not taking the piss, just a link a day or something!)

3.I can use robot.txt file?

What benefit u will get by having 15 Domains for same Content?

In fact, copyscape.com will detect them as mirror sites and duplicate content.
Also this is not good for Search Engine point of view.

I wouldn't say that you will be punished so much with duplicate content. You will not be totally banned, but you will not increase the ranking for the sites with duplicate content. What is the reason to have so many sites with the same content? May be there is another way to reach what you need? If you are concern about number of backlinks you planning to make every day then don't put so many. Use common sense and don't apply for the link farms, search engines don't like them. You also ask if you can use robots.txt file. Yes you can do that, but first read what is that file is all about and how it works.

Google is getting a lot better at recognizing duplicate content. Remember, they want their users to always get the result they are seeking when they search something. If you obtimize one site with 15 different pages selling the product, it will be a better overall user experience for the consumer and will be more likely to generate more lifetime value.
