I believe the key to getting a really high rank in search engines is to have excellent SEO and lots of excellent back links. It's a thing that takes time and requires a long time to master. Even once it's mastered, the rules of SEO keep changing so one must be kept up to date.

more backlinks from sites whose page rank is 2-4, you can get them by exchange friendly links.
Keep building backlinks and that will help you get good position in google or any else SE

Did you choose your keywords carefully? Are they competitive? Keyword selection is very crucial in getting a good ranking in SEs. The more competitive the kws, the more time and effort you need for linkbuilding.

To maintain a good PR seems tougher than to achieve it. You can't stop building backlinks for your site.

Make sure you do frequent updates especially on content, and maintain having backlinks and use more aggressive keywords to preserve page rank.

If you show the URL of your site and key words. May be you have high competition for your key word. SO for getting SERP you can do book marking for your site. It will help you to get your SERP.

What's your niche btw? If it's too competitive, it's really hard to rank. Just keep on building links to outrank your competition.

Competition is tough in Google these days. It's just a matter of persistent linkbuilding. That's the only way to boost your site ranking. Avoid linking with bad neighborhood.
