Is .tel worth the hype?

Post by anamaaria2513 »

I heard of the .tel 'hype' fairly recently, and to be honest i don't know what to make of it?

I know the idea behind the .tel domain is to create another 'level' of domain type........one that is based more around social networking. However, although i see how it COULD be useful, i can't see it being 'the next big thing' of the internet?

Maybe i am missing something?

Does anyone here have a .tel domain name or plan on getting one? Any thoughts on how you think it may impact the web??

An associate of mine bought about twenty of them, but I don´t really see any massive benefit.

I think they are just "hyping" the market up.

.tel Scam

Post by fantasticdad »

I think that with the introduction of new dots every few years, it is a great way to make money off people who don't really know anything about internet marketing. Too many people think to much about the domain. In reality, I believe the importance of the domain only wieghs in at about 10% compared to the importance of link building and relevancy.

If I have the good keyword for regist the domain name, I will select the .com with the first choice. I think it will be get more benefits for a long time.

So is this a new domain? I've not seen any .tel domain name yet. I still prefer .com or .net.

I don't think it worth much. Unless you have a great dictionary word like my.tel, we.tel or something.

It may be that a top level domain from a different country has some benefit but that should be tested.

Hence you must select your wedding accessories only after selecting the theme of your wedding.

I have seen good results from .co domains to rival the .co.uk domains. Not really seen much of the .tel extension domains though.
