Homepage is not listing in Google search results

Hi,

Does anyone meet a situation like this…?

I have a site with the PR 2. It is an e-commerce website. It has approximately 800 pages and indexed only 222 pages since last few months in Google Search engine.

I was wondering why this website homepage is not listing in Google Search results when I was searching the keyword of the domain name.

E.g.: www dot firstexample dot com

When I had searched the keyword “firstexample” obviously it should bring up the website in search results. At least it should bring up results in top 100; it is not even showing in the Google search results. But it shows in yahoo search results.

What could be reason??? Any suggestions will be appreciated.

There are many things that we can consider on why a site could be banned by google. just search for the reason.

Yup, there some changes you made that might affect the result you are expecting. If you think your doing something wrong it is possible that it will return to it's original rankings if you check your task one by one and trying new things that you think might help you.

Some factors like lack of links using that keyword of your homepage, or that keyword is too competitive...

divengrabber, if you use www dot firstexample dot com domain, it doesn't necessarily mean you will get good results for the keyword "firstexample". It might me considerably easier for to get good positions, but it is not a rule. Make sure your home page is listed. Search for "site:www dot firstexample dot com" (without the quotation marks).

Also, use webmaster tools www.google.com/webmasters/tools/ this will show you any errors and indexing problems you can handle then.

Usually, your main most general keyword will be the one that gats a good position in google the latest. So, focus on other more specific words and don't worry about the general ones. They are not necessarily more valuable than the specific ones.

There are many different possibilities why your site isn't ranking. One probable cause is that your site doesn't have enough that much backlinks. It can also due to keyword competition.

Do some article submission Ping those and then bookmark them. The easiest way to get indexed in google.

If your site has been indexed then you have nothing to worry about. Try to check it @ Google Webmaster Tools and examine if your site has been crawled or indexed properly. Then, also consider how much backlinks you have. Make the most use of your keywords in your link building and i think you may also consider to check your competitor.

it sometimes happen,but very rare. If you promote mostly your site's inner pages or products most probably your site pages will get a good rank rather than your home page.

* Submit it to Google at http://www.google.com/addurl.html.

* Submit a Sitemap using Google Webmaster Tools. Google uses your Sitemap to learn about the structure of your site and to increase our coverage of your webpages.

* Make sure all the sites that should know about your pages are aware your site is online.

Have you made a redirect to your homepage before? A wrong redirection (not 301) can be the reason.
