Are keywords in content a numbers game?
I'm wondering if there's a certain amount of keywords you can add to your content without it being classified as spam by most readers. Is there some kind of benchmark you can use to judge when enough is enough? For example, x number of keywords maximum within a paragraph or article that's so many words long.
Also, do the search engines penalize you if you have too many? I've not really used keywords to their best advantage and would like to do so but am afraid I'd do more harm than good so am a bit hesitant.

I always write content for users not for search engines, so I do not worry about spamming, search engine penalization sort of things basically. If you write content having user in your mind, automatically the content will be keyword rich, this is what I prefer to do most of the times.

Do you know SEO?ContestKing wrote:Nope, you could get done for keyword flooding.
Yes there is a harm if you do keyword flooding. This is one of the Google penalty.
You should strew your target keyword into the whole content. Check your keyword density with meta tag analyzers on the net. They give you warning if you have much density.

As long as you are not repeating those keywords, you're safe.neeraj wrote:I'm wondering if there's a certain amount of keywords you can add to your content without it being classified as spam by most readers. You can use at least 2-3 keywords in an article. I don't know about the others.

My rule is: Whenever you have doubts you may be spamming search engines, you are.
Write content for visitors and use your keyword just a bit more often than your english teacher would advise you to use it. And don't worry about keyword density. Here is a real life example. Do a search for "Click here" on Google. You'll see adobe website on #1. Go there. Then, do a search for the phrase "Click here" on adobe's website. You won't find it. So, keyword density doesn't matter.
