Hi everyone

How long does it normally take for a new site to get ranked or at least get a good ranking from major search engines like Google or Yahoo? What is the best way to build more backlinks?

Needs advice...

Well it is up to your work, anyway gain your quality back links by posting in some related site or forum that has a PR, and wait for 2 to 3 months...

It depends on how you work on your site. If you optimize well, maybe it takes a month or few months to have a good rank in search engines.

Getting a site indexed is easy, get lots of backlinks.

Getting a site ranking depends upon the competitiveness of the words your trying to rank for, but you'll achieve it through backlinks.

So get backlinks, there are a ton of lists on how to get backlinks already written, just search Google for them.

Our site started to obtain rankings in a quite competitive keyword in approximately 2 months, with constant quality link building. It definitely depends on the amount of competition that your keyword has. For the most competitive keywords you definitely have to spend a lot of effort in link-building and on-page optimization, as well as applying strategies to obtain more traffic.

If your niche is very competitive, you need to allot about 6 months up to a year of non-stop optimization and linkbuilding activities!
