How to check Google Backlinks

Google has never shown all of my backlinks and moves them around as well. Most of the time Google shows less than half of the linkbacks to me.

Then you can check the BLs in Yahoo! The BLs from Yahoo and Google are almost similar.

how do u people basically compare the site and then optimise
as in wht all things do u look for and what all thing do u do to get ur position up in search results.

do u focus on any one keyword or multiple

Google deliberately hides the handsome amount of backlink simply to put the confidentiality about the PR technique. In the whole process of calculating PR the only unavailable data in integrity is backlinks and hence it is very difficult to know how Google is calculating the PR of the page and hence its importance.

google webmaster tools www.google.com/webmasters/tools/ is a good palce to find sites that link to you.

All the info can be exported into a XLS, HTML, DOC file for further, more detailed analysis. You can handle several URLs, submit your target keywords to see linking sites with these keywords in anchor text and so on.

But you necessitate a tool to control the status of the links. Do they even point to your website, what anchor text do these backlinks have as well as so on.

I use this from SE: http://www.submitexpress.com/link-popularity-check.html

Mind it shows 0 for mine with google despite over 850 backlinks total.

For google links, if you install the google toolbar & the pagerank checker. You see the PR of every site you visit automatically. To check google BL's, drop down on the PR checker icon & click 'Backward links'.

Last time mine showed 4 or 5. Google only shows what it considers to be a quality link - how they define a quality link is another story.
