This is the first time I've heard it. I think it's related to Twitter. Or the manner you use Twitter service. :D

I think it's more of the twitter thing when it comes to SEO definition.

Twitting is the process of communicating as far as BIRDS are concerned. Just kidding. ;)
I think you're talking about this...twitter is a free social networking and micro-blogging service that allows its users to send and read other users' updates (otherwise known as tweets).

Twitting is faster than text-messaging. In a sense Twitter is a universal text messaging system. You can broadcast to all of your “followers” (i.e., people who subscribe to your Twitter feed) or send a direct message to just one. It will help you keep up with what people are talking about.

Twittering is valuable for a a few different reasons: When you "twit" you are (hopefully) promoting your site to a large audience and this can positively your Alexa rankings by sending visitors to your pages. The big drawback is that Twitter gives your links a "No follow" attribute. Search engines like Google and yahoo won't crawl them but ask.com will so it might give you a little added link juice.
