In addition, why do you need a site map for your website? because its offers a "human" visitors, it is also important for "robotic" visitors from search engines. As a web developer your aim should be to get all public pages on your web site in the search engine database.

Sitemap is primarily created for users. It's supposed to be a summary of important pages in your site. It can also help your site's inner pages get indexed by search engine faster.

A sitemap helps your visitors and SE bots know the structure of your website.

It helps a lot in the page indexing of your site by SE bots.

Using sitemaps has many benefits, not only easier navigation and better visibility by search engines. Sitemaps offer the opportunity to inform search engines immediately about any changes on your site. Of course, you cannot expect that search engines will rush right away to index your changed pages but certainly the changes will be indexed faster, compared to when you don't have a sitemap.

A Sitemap is a page on your website that indicates the entire structure of your site including different sections, links between them, and so on. In short it gives a detailed listing of your website layout.

Yes you should submit a sitemap for your website in XML that sits on the server. While a sitemap.xml file is important it is also important that you have this file updated regularly. This can be accomplished using sitemap generators that run automatically on your website or manually using XML sitemap generators on the web.

Sitemap.xml is a best way to crawl and index your site pages quickly. The pages having no direct links from main page or those difficult to find to search engine crawlers can be easily discovered by crawler bots from sitemap file.

Sitemap is a xml format file that can be placed on your sites root directory. All your site links are listed in sitemap.xml file. Sitemap format should be accepted by all search engine bots. The universal standard about sitemap.xml can be found on site sitemap.org.

Sitemap is designed for both users and SE bots. A good sitemap which contains the entire structure of your site helps a lot in fast indexing.
