Re: Why sitemap for website?
In addition, why do you need a site map for your website? because its offers a "human" visitors, it is also important for "robotic" visitors from search engines. As a web developer your aim should be to get all public pages on your web site in the search engine database.divengrabber wrote:Why do i need sitemap for website? and what it's benefits in search engine world?

Using sitemaps has many benefits, not only easier navigation and better visibility by search engines. Sitemaps offer the opportunity to inform search engines immediately about any changes on your site. Of course, you cannot expect that search engines will rush right away to index your changed pages but certainly the changes will be indexed faster, compared to when you don't have a sitemap.

A Sitemap is a page on your website that indicates the entire structure of your site including different sections, links between them, and so on. In short it gives a detailed listing of your website layout.

Yes you should submit a sitemap for your website in XML that sits on the server. While a sitemap.xml file is important it is also important that you have this file updated regularly. This can be accomplished using sitemap generators that run automatically on your website or manually using XML sitemap generators on the web.
